Plainfield Park District Patriotic Picnic and Fireworks Returns July 3

The Plainfield Park District’s Patriotic Picnic and Fireworks returns on July 3 to Plainfield Central High School, 24120 W. Fort Beggs Dr. The Plainfield Park District’s annual summertime event to celebrate Independence Day includes fun activities for the entire family and kicks off with a flag raising at 6p followed by patriotic bike decorating and parade. $5 wristbands will also be on sale for unlimited bounces in the inflatables. The public is invited to bring their blankets, picnic baskets, lawn chairs and coolers (no alcoholic beverages allowed). Concessions for sale will also be available. The day of fun concludes with the Plainfield Park District Patriotic Fireworks display which starts at dusk.
Schedule of Events
- 6p: Flag raising followed by bike decorating
- 6:30p: Bike Parade
- 7p: Dance performance by the Plainfield Park District Dance Camp kids
- 8:15p: inflatables close
- 8:30p: Retiring of the colors led by the American Legion
