Planning Commission Considers Rezoning 330 Acres In Joliet

The Joliet Planning and Zoning Commission is meeting today regarding the rezoning of more than 330 acres from residential to light industrial. WJOL has learned that the property is near Noel Estates at Route 53 and Arsenal Road and the homeowners are against the rezoning. A flyer has been distributed to Jackson Township residents urging them to attend today’s meeting at Joliet City Hall. The flyer says “even if you don’t live in the immediate area, it will affect you with more trucks, cars, trains warehouses, pollution, noise and accidents. The meeting begins at 4 p.m.
