Pritzker Calls For Expanding Pre-K Access

Governor Pritzker wants to make Illinois the best place in the nation to raise young children.  During his State of the State budget address yesterday, the governor introduced his plan called Smart Start Illinois.  Part of the plan is Smart Start Pre-K, which will allow access to pre-school for every three and four year old in Illinois.  Pritzker’s budget also proposes investments in childcare, the teacher pipeline, higher education, and efforts to fight poverty.
