Pritzker Extends State Ban On Evictions

Governor J.B. Pritzker is extending the state’s ban on evictions. The extension puts evictions on hold through August 22nd. Pritzker says his intent is to protect hundreds of Illinois residents during the pandemic. The ban was originally put into place back in March. Lawmakers are working to develop emergency assistance programs to help people behind on their bills.
