Pritzker Signs Law Adding Safeguards to Protect Students Against Sex Abuse

A new Illinois law is adding safeguards to protect student against sexual abuse. Governor JB Pritzker signed Faith’s Law into law on Friday. The legislation adds safeguards by expanding the definition of grooming in the criminal code and increasing resources and protections for sexual abuse survivors and their families. The law also requires school districts to develop a sexual misconduct code of conduct, review employment history, and increase training for educators.
