Pritzker Vows Changes To Illinois DCFS

Governor Pritzker is vowing that changes are being made to fix the problems with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. His pledge yesterday came in response to the results of a report on how the DCFS functions. One of the main findings shows DCFS workers were motivated to avoid removing children from their parents, even if there was evidence of abuse or neglect. Pritzker ordered the report following the deaths of several children with connections to the agency.
