Prowl For Owls, Take a Winter Hike or Meet Taco the Turtle
MOKENA/CRETE TOWNSHIP – Due to the popularity of the Forest Preserve District of Will County’s “Owl Prowl” programs, two more sessions have been added. The free, all-ages programs will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, at Hickory Creek Preserve – LaPorte Road Access in Mokena and Friday, Feb. 8, at Plum Creek Nature Center in Crete Township. CHANNAHON – “Winter Hike,” 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Forest Preserve District of Will County’s Four Rivers Environmental Education Center. Enjoy the chill air and majestic beauty of a still and quiet winter morning with a 0.75-mile hike. Then warm up inside and be among the first to view the “Frida Kahlo’s Garden” exhibit. ROMEOVILLE – “Turtle Time,” 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the Forest Preserve District of Will County’s Isle a la Cache Museum. Meet and greet Taco, the museum’s resident Blanding’s turtle.
