Will County will be under an Ice Storm Warning from 6 p.m. Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday. This is the first ice storm warning issued by the National Weather Service in more than 9 years. The last time was in December of 2009. These don’t happen that often. It’s because O’Hare Airport could see half an inch of ice accumulation. About a tenth of inch forecast for Joliet. Northern Will County will see .15″ and Southern Will County will see about .05″. The heaviest accumulation of ice will be north of the Joliet area generally along and north of the I-88 corridor.
