Region 7’s ICU Bed Availability On Life Support

Only a handful of ICU beds are available in Kankakee and Will Counties. Only three ICU beds are available in Region 7 of Kankakee and Will County hospitals.
Kankakee residents have one of the lowest rates of fully-vaccinated residents at about 47% while Will County residents is at 62% fully vaccinated.
Of those that are on ventilators, a majority were not vaccinated. In Illinois, 6600 patients are hospitalized with COVID the most since the pandemic began.
