Republicans Say New Bill To Allow Recalls Will Fight Corruption

Two Republican Illinois General Assembly members say changes they are proposing will fight corruption in the state. State Senator Jason Barickman and Representative Mark Batinick want to change the state constitution to allow the public to recall the Speaker, Auditor General, General Assembly members, and local officials. Currently, the public can only recall the governor.
