Illinoisans facing an eviction lawsuit and the involved landlords have access to a new assistance program. The assistance is available through a new program run by the Illinois Department of Human Services. The program will pay up to 12-months of past-due rent and three months of future rent. The Illinois Supreme Court issued an order Monday that allocated 60-million from federal emergency rent assistance to anyone facing an eviction court lawsuit.
