The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that pavement patching and resurfacing on expressways in the south suburbs will require intermittent, overnight lane closures beginning, weather permitting, Monday, Aug. 12.

The work will be done on the Bishop Ford Freeway (Interstate 94) between Sibley Boulevard (Illinois 83) and 159th Street in Dolton and South Holland; the ramps from Interstate 57 to Interstate 80 in Country Club Hills; and Interstate 80 between Briggs Street in Joliet and Ridge Road in Minooka.

The work is expected to be complete by early September.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
