Romeoville Police Arrest 22-Year-Old In PPP Loan Investigation

A Romeoville woman has been arrested for fraudulently getting over $41,000 in Paycheck Protection Program loans and over $4,700 in unemployment benefits.
Twenty-two year old Yunelly Bahena faces eight felony charges including loan fraud, theft, wire fraud and state benefits fraud. The Romeoville Police Department conducted the investigation and indicted Bahena on April 6. She was arrested May 31st.
It was last year the the Joliet Police Department along with the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office, Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Labor announced the arrests or indictments of 25 individuals who are said to be involved with extensive financial crimes connected to the Paycheck Protection Program.
