Halloween happenings shared by local schools to WJOL.

Several Troy Cronin Elementary School Students won a school drawing to go home with 10 pumpkins painted by school teachers and staff. Here, Assistant Principal Katie Hogan, left, and Principal Jill Howard are with the students who would bring home the three winning pumpkins.

Kaden Quintero brought home “Fly Guy,” which students voted as Silliest Pumpkin. Abby Couch brought home “Calabaza Especial,” the Most Creative Pumpkin. Kyle Shroba brought home “Pigeon Pumpkin,” voted Student Favorite Pumpkin.

Plainfield South High School senior Hannah Kostelz helps a young pirate prepare to decorate his pumpkin at the 14th annual Pumpkin Painting Party sponsored by the PSHS Student Council. Each year students in preschool through third grade in blue house elementary schools – Charles Reed, Meadow View, Ridge, Thomas Jefferson and Wesmere – can decorate pumpkins, play games, get their faces painted and enjoy snacks before Halloween.
