Sears Chairman Prevails In Bankruptcy Auction

It appears Sears will remain open. Multiple news outlets report Chairman Eddie Lampert prevailed in a bankruptcy auction for the Hoffman Estates company with an improved takeover bid of around five-point-two-billion dollars. The deal allows the 126-year-old retailer to keep its doors open. It still has to be approved by a U.S. bankruptcy judge.
