Senate Approves Anti-lynching Bill Named After Emmett Till

A federal anti-lynching bill named after Emmett Till is headed to President Biden’s desk to sign.  The Senate yesterday unanimously passed the measure, which would define lynching as a hate crime.  Congressman Bobby Rush has championed the bill named after Till, a 14-year-old Black child from Chicago who was kidnapped, beaten, and brutally murdered in Mississippi by white supremacists in 1955.
