SOS Office Extends Expiration Dates For State Driver’s Licenses

The secretary of state’s office is extending expiration dates for Illinois driver’s licenses and ID cards. Spokesperson Beth Kaufman says that there is no need to rush into a driver’s facility. She adds that the three-month extension is due to continued concerns about the pandemic and not overcrowding driver’s facilities. The extension does not include CDL drivers.
