Sports Betting At Chicago Stadiums Gets OK From City Council Committees

A measure supporting sports betting at Chicago sporting venues is on its way to the full City Council. The ordinance was approved yesterday by the city’s Zoning and Licensing Committees by a vote of 19-to-7. The legislation includes a minority set-aside clause that calls for diversity in issuing sports licenses. Meanwhile, Budget Committee Chair Pat Dowell says the measure doesn’t do enough for minority ownership or involvement.
