State Data Breach Impacted Hundreds Of Thousands Of Residents

Nearly 400-thousand Illinois residents, including several in the Chicago area, are impacted by a recent online data breach. The state had used a third-party program called “Move IT” to transfer residents’ information to a database. The system was breached by hackers late last month, according to state officials. Those affected are being notified by mail.
