State Unemployment Benefits Being Extended

State unemployment benefits are set to last longer. The Illinois Department of Employment Security announced yesterday that it is adding seven more weeks to the extended 13 weeks of benefits for an additional 20 weeks past the usual 26-week limit. IDES says state law allows for 20 weeks of extended benefits during times of “high unemployment.”
