Summer Arrives Today

Today marks the longest day of the year and the official start of summer. The summer solstice occurs today shortly before noon on the East Coast. The solstice marks the moment when the Earth’s northern hemisphere achieves its maximum tilt towards the sun. Much of the southern U.S. will get around 14 hours of daylight, while the northern states could get up to an hour and a half more.
