The Joliet Central Band Parents Association invites the public to their NYC 2020 Band Trip Benefit Night to help raise money to cover the four day, three-night trip to New York with over 115 band members. The Joliet Central Symphonic Band was selected to perform a concert on March 23, 2020, at the New York’s Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, home of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and one of the most renowned concert halls in the world.

The NYC 2020 Band Trip Benefit Night will take place on July 13, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kuchies on Houboult. Guests must be at least 21 years old to attend. Admission will be $20 at the door and includes beer, house liquor, soda, and snacks. Silent auction items will be available. All proceeds will benefit the Joliet Central Band in support of their New York City/Lincoln Center Invitational Performance.

Director Don Stinson states: “to say that I am proud of our students is an understatement. Performing at Lincoln Center is on many musicians’ bucket lists, and we have some extremely hard-working students that have been awarded this opportunity. It will be a lot of work to get to New York, but we as a band are committed to representing our school and community by sharing our own musical culture in New York.”

The band will be also be hosting two music festivals in the fall to help raise money for the trip, as well as a spaghetti dinner, Pastry Puffin sales, and other fundraisers. If you are interested in helping to sponsor the band for this opportunity, please contact Don Stinson at [email protected] or visit our Alumni Nation fundraiser page by clicking here.
