Summer officially arrives June 21st but the weather still feels more like fall than summer. Cool weather moved into the area on Wednesday afternoon. Steady rain this morning producing about an inch of rain in the Joliet area and about 1.5 to 2 inches of rain south towards the Pontiac area.

The longest day of the year occurs tomorrow, June 21st the official beginning of summer when the Earth’s poles has its maximum tilt toward the Sun. We’ll have the longest day of daylight on June 21st. The weekend expected to be warmer and more humid with temperatures in the mid 80’s.
