Two Juveniles Arrested with Firearms at Joliet Fast Food Restaurant

The Joliet Police are sharing details regarding two juveniles that were arrested at a local restaurant while possessing firearms. It was on June 25th at 9:09 p.m. that Joliet Police responded to a call at McDonald’s, located at 508 E. Cass Street in reference to a report of multiple individuals with a gun. Officers were able to locate two individuals matching the description of the subjects sitting in a booth inside the McDonald’s. The Officers had the subjects place their hands on their heads and stand up. As the subjects did this, Officers observed a firearm sticking out of one of the subject’s pocket. The subject was placed into cuffs and the loaded firearm secured. The other subject did the same and an unloaded firearm was located in his pant pocket. That subject was then placed into cuffs and the firearm was also secured along with suspected cannabis.

Arrested were a 16-year-old male juvenile on charged of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of Cannabis and a 17-year-old male juvenile on charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID, and Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer. The Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer comes from the teen attempting to spit on an officer several times and then in fact actually spiting on an officer while that officer was attempting to open a door at the station. The juveniles were then processed without further incident.
