Victim Of Shooting In Joliet Refuses To Cooperate
On October 19, 2024, at 2:20 a.m., Joliet Police Officers responded to the 300 block of Wilson Avenue for a report of someone shot. Upon arrival, Officers located a 29-year-old male who had sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg. Officers rendered medical assistance to the victim until the arrival of Joliet Fire Department paramedics. The male was transported to Silver Cross Hospital by the Joliet Fire Department. The injury was considered to be non-life threatening. The victim refused to cooperate and provide any further information to Officers regarding this shooting. It is believed that the victim was near a vehicle when he was shot. The vehicle was struck by the gunfire. Officers conducted a canvass of the area and located spent shell casings at the scene.
