West Cass Street and North Ottawa Street Modifications, Beginning October 2nd

The city of Joliet has announced that W. Cass Street (between north Ottawa and north Scott Street) and north Ottawa Street (between west Cass Street to west Clinton Street) will have nightly road closures during the hours of 7:00p.m. to 7:00a.m. from Wednesday, October 2 through Friday, October 5. These traffic modifications are required due to the Downtown Storm Sewer Improvements project. This project includes installation of approximately 2,800 linear feet of 60-inch and 66-inch trunk storm sewer on south Des Plaines, Lafayette, west Washington, and west Jefferson Streets; as well as various systematic storm sewer installations throughout the downtown area. The project is anticipated to be completed by early winter of 2019. Drivers should be prepared for delays or seek an alternate route and are reminded to slow down and use extreme caution when driving in the vicinity of the work zone. Obey posted speed limit and signage and watch for workers or flaggers. For the safety of workers and drivers do not use cell phones or text while driving.
