Will County Coroner Identifies Man Following Crash In Retention Pond

The Will County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who lost his life on Labor Day Monday after his car crashed into a retention pond on Joliet’s West Side. Twenty-one-year old Jacob Conrad from Plainfield was pronounced dead after being transported to AMITA St. Joseph Medical Center. The 21-year old is the grandson of the family that owns Conrad’s Harley-Davidson on Frontage Road in Joliet.

The Will County Coroner is reporting the death of Jacob Conrad, a 21 year-old Plainfield, IL resident who was pronounced deceased at 05:53 hrs on Monday, September 7th, 2020 at the Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center ER in Joliet, IL. Mr. Conrad was the driver of a vehicle that left the roadway and became submerged in a retention pond near the intersection of Vision Lane and Paradise Drive in Joliet, IL. The Joliet Police Department is investigating the crash. An autopsy performed on Monday, September 7th revealed Mr. Conrad drowned. The final cause and manner of death will be determined pending the review of police, autopsy and toxicological reports.
