Will County Sheriff’s Office Receiving Numerous Calls of Service Regarding School Threats
The Will County Sheriff’s Office has been receiving numerous calls of service regarding school threats to many area schools. The Will County Sheriff’s Office would like to echo the same message that the Homer 33C School District put out earlier tonight.
“We are aware of the threats being circulated on social media. The social media post has been determined to be a recycled post which has recently impacted other area schools. We continue to work with the Will County Sheriff’s Department to monitor this ongoing situation. No credible evidence has been found to support any threats specifically to our district. Will County Sheriff Deputies will be on site providing an additional presence at our schools tomorrow.
If you or your child sees a threatening post on social media, please do not repost. We ask that you take a screenshot of the threatening post and contact the police department to allow them to investigate further.”
One of the Will County Sheriff’s Office top priorities include the security and safety of our schools in Will County. We would like to ensure you, that we are taking the necessary precautions to achieve that objective. If we determine a threat is credible, rest assured that we will take the necessary precautions to achieve our objectives of having a safe and secure learning environment for your children.
