Your Own Backyard May Be The Place To Retire

Thinking about where to retire, your own backyard may do the trick, according to a new ranking from Blacktower Financial Management. This year’s list includes fewer sunshine states than last year’s rankings.

Illinois ranks 9th on the top 10 list to retire. Illinois didn’t make last year’s top 10, but did this year in part because of the state’s high life expectancy of 79 years.

The list also includes stats like crime rate, property price and age.

The top 10 best states for retirement are Florida, Minnesota, Iowa, Ohio, Texas, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Idaho.
