Dry Monday After Drenching Rain Sunday

Showers and thunderstorms that developed during the morning hours on July 19th, tracked rapidly eastward roughly near and along the I-80 corridor bringing strong to severe wind gusts to parts of the region.

In addition to the wind and associated scattered reports of damage, a swath of locally heavy rainfall also occurred, with locations along a Tonica to Calumet City line receiving a quick 2 to 3 inches of rainfall.
