Mask Mandate May Be Dropped By Holidays If Metrics Improve

Governor JB Pritzker says the state mask mandate could be dropped by the holidays if COVID-19 metrics improve. Pritzker said earlier this week that it’s important to wait until numbers are consistently going down before mitigations are removed. The Director of the Sangamon County Department of Public Health says they will support the governor’s approach. Director Gail O’Neill says decisions to end mitigations need to be made carefully.
