New details are coming out about last week’s attack in Chicago on Empire star Jussie Smollett. The television actor told police that he recently received an envelope at the Fox production studios on the city’s West Side. Inside was a sheet of white paper with a homophobic threat in cut-out letters. Smollett added that there was also a white powder in the envelope, but it was later determined to be a crushed pain-reliever found in Tylenol. The letters MAGA were written on the envelope. A week later, Smollett was allegedly assaulted by two men in the city’s Streeterville neighborhood who hit him and wrapped a rope around his neck while yelling this is MAGA country.
