Illinois‘ jobless rate is higher than at any time since the mid-1970s. The Illinois Department of Employment Security yesterday said the unemployment rate for April hit 16-point-four-percent. Every sector of the economy lost jobs, but leisure and hospitality lost the most at 320-thousand jobs. Almost 73-thousand people filed a first-time unemployment claim last week alone.
