Kankakee Woman Sentenced To Prison for Theft of Social Security Benefits

A Kankakee woman is going to prison for theft of social security benefits. Sharrie McInnis was sentenced this week to 14 months behind bars. Prosecutors say McInnis had been claiming Child-In-Care benefits for a grandchild that was not actually in her care. She received more than 22-thousand-dollars in fraudulent benefits.
