Congresswoman Marie Newman is under investigation. The House Ethics Committee is looking into claims the Illinois Democrat may have violated federal law by promising a political rival a job so he wouldn’t run against her in the 2020 primary. The decision followed an investigation by the Office of Congressional Ethics that concluded there was reason to believe the allegation of political bribery.
