Pritzker To Sign Bill For Chicago First Responders

Governor Pritzker will be signing Illinois Comptroller Susana Mendoza’s Act of Duty bill today. The measure will provide duty-disability benefits for Chicago first responders severely stricken by COVID-19 in the days before vaccines were available. The legislation comes after the Chicago police Sergeant brother of Mendoza fell badly ill with COVID and was denied full disability benefits.
