Channahon Police Make Arrest in Connection to 10-Week-Olds Death
The Channahon Police Department is investigating the death of a 10-weeks-old female that occurred earlier in the week. It was on Monday June 3rd at 12:22 a.m. that Channahon Police were called to Morris Hospital. Hospital staff made the request after assessments of Kora Middono and indicated significant injuries to her head were consistent with blunt force trauma. Kora was flown from Morris Hospital to Lurie’s Children Hospital in Chicago. At 12:49pm June 3, 2019 Kora was pronounced dead at Lurie’s Children’s Hospital.
Channahon Police launched an investigation on June 3rd into how Kora sustained her injuries. The investigation revealed that Kora was living with her mother and father at the Manor Motel in Channahon, but moved to the Crest Hill Inn in Crest Hill the morning of May 30. Channahon Police detectives interviewed Kora’s mother and father. Charges for Aggravated Battery to a Victim Under 13-Years-Old have been filed against the child’s father, 29-year-old Jonathon R. Middono. Upgraded charged are expected to be filed at sometime in the future. The investigation is still open and active.
