Cook County’s Top Prosecutor Not Running For Re-election

Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx is not seeking a third term.  Foxx announced Tuesday she would not be running for re-election while defending her time in office.  She thanked her detractors, many who blamed her, in part, for the spike in violent crime in Chicago.  Foxx was first elected in 2016 and was the first Black woman to serve as the county’s top prosecutor.
