Crack Cocaine Discovered During Traffic Stop in Joliet
The Joliet Police Department is announcing the arrest of a 34-year-old Joliet man after a traffic stop on Monday October 7th. It was at 11:56pm that officers saw a vehicle commit a traffic violation at 5th and Gardner Avenues. Officer initiated the traffic stop in the 100 block of 5th Avenue. Upon approaching the vehicle officer smelled the strong odor of cannabis from the car. The driver of the vehicle, Jarrell M. Luckey, refused to exit vehicle and officer were forced to remove him from the car. A loaded firearm was located under the driver’s seat during a search of the vehicle. Glass vials containing suspected crack cocaine were also located along with an open alcoholic beverage. Jarrell Luckey has been charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, No FOID, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Obstructing a Peace Officer.
