Illinois: 300-Thousand Real IDs Issued

Illinois is well ahead of the deadline to get people new drivers licenses and state ID cards. The Illinois Secretary of State said late last week that their office has issued over 300-thousand Real ID compliant licenses and IDs. Real ID requires a bit more information to confirm people’s identities, it’s also going to be necessary for people to fly as of next October. A Secretary of State spokesman says Illinois is issuing three-thousand licenses and ID cards a month.
