Illinois’ treasurer wants to make it easier for legal marijuana businesses to go to the bank.  State Treasurer Mike Frerichs yesterday proposed a new law to end what he calls Illinois’ “outdated” banking laws.  Frerichs says the current law has forced medical marijuana growers and sellers to rely on cash only.  He says his legislation would prohibit the state from any action that would penalize or dissuade banks and credit unions from serving cannabis-related businesses.
