Illinois’ Unpaid Bill Backlog Now Over Nine Billion-Dollars

The latest look at Illinois’ finances shows more bad news. Illinois’ comptroller yesterday said the state’s backlog of unpaid bills is over nine-billion-dollars. More than 82-thousand bills are waiting to be paid. Illinois has struggled with paying its bills for years, but the new total is worse than at any point in the past few years.
