Legionella Bacteria Detected at Two DOC Facilities In Illinois

Illinois health officials are revealing that the legionella bacteria was detected at the Stateville and Joliet Treatment Center facilities last week.  Currently, no inmates or staff at either facility are exhibiting symptoms of the disease and all potentially affected individuals in custody have been notified.  Medical staff is monitoring the inmates who were in contact with a water source that tested positive for legionella.
