Man Reportedly Escaped ICE Agents At O’Hare, Hailed Cab

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials aren’t commenting on an ongoing investigation into the escape of a man from O’Hare Airport who was to be deported. The Sun-Times reports Radu Anghel snuck out of a restroom during a layover on June 10th as he was to be deported back to his home country of Romania, was able to get past two ICE agents and then was able to hail a cab. Anghel had been initially arrested in Texas in February and was handed off to ICE, who ordered the deportation for an overstayed temporary worker visa.
