Pritzker Says State Won’t Mandate Vaccine For School Children

Governor J.B. Pritzker says Illinois won’t mandate the COVID-19 vaccine for K through 12 school children. Pritzker made the comment Monday in response to California Governor Gavin Newsom’s move to mandate the vaccine for the same age group. The comment was made the same day Springfield’s District 186 school board voted to ask the Illinois state Board of Education to consider a vaccine mandate. District 186 was the first to make such a request.
