Regional Superintendents Address Illinois Teacher Shortage

The Illinois Association of Regional Superintendents of Schools is releasing policy recommendations to address the state’s teacher shortage. The group is calling for better benefits for teachers and more lenient certification requirements. A survey in the fall indicated that the shortage is the worst in west central and southeastern Illinois.
