Some Illinois National Guard Troops Leaving Washington, D.C.

Some of Illinois’ National Guard troops are coming home. Governor JB Pritzker yesterday said 400 of the 500 troops he sent to protect Washington, D.C. are coming back to Illinois. About 100 will stay in the nation’s capital. The troops were some of the 25-thousand National Guardsmen called-up after the January 6th riot at the Capitol. There is no word when Illinois’ remaining troops will be able to return to the state.
