A local refinery is making a little leagues’ “field of dreams” come true. Project Planner Enrique Arias from ExxonMobil Refinery in Channahon has spear-headed a project to renovate the Belmont Little League baseball field. It was at the start of the baseball season that Belmont Little League was robbed of field equipment. The giving community of Joliet opened their hearts and wallets to donate equipment. But even more was about to happen. Arias says what started as a sponsorship turned into a major project after seeing the field in poor condition.

Breiser Construction and Allied Nursery are part of the renovation. The fence is up, the field has been re-turfed. They’ll go back in the early spring to paint and refurbish the stands and dugouts.
