State Senator Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant (D-Shorewood) hosts her fourth annual three-part Summer Speaker Series to provide support for teens and recent high school graduates in their transition after high school.

The first Speaker Series event, Campus Safety, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4 at the Black Road Branch of the Joliet Public Library, located at 3395 W. Black Road in Joliet. The discussion will be led by the Lewis University Police Department and will provide tools for safe campus life.

“As our teens and high school graduates head to college, it is imperative that they know how to stay safe,” Bertino-Tarrant said. “This informational series will help equip young adults with the tools to promote safe practices.”

Throughout the summer, Bertino-Tarrant will host two additional Summer Speaker Series events entitled “Self-Defense” and “Freshman Year 101”.
