Congressmen Seek Air Missions For Springfield Air National Guard Unit

An effort is being made to get a new flying mission for Springfield’s 183rd Wing of the Illinois Air National Guard.  The Congressional delegation of Illinois is trying to get the amendment added to the National Defense Authorization Act.  The 183rd Wing flew F-16s up until the mid-2000s, but it now serves as a repair facility and air operations unit.
